The Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card issued by American Express is aimed at business customers with a good credit rating who want the benefits of the Starwood hotels rewards program.
The rewards program allows customers to earn two Starpoints per dollar spent at participating Starwood locations. Customers can earn one additional Starpoint per dollar on eligible purchases made via the Starwood Preferred Guest program. In addition, one Starpoint per dollar is earned on all other purchases. American Express awards10,000 bonus Starpoints after the first purchase is charged to the new card. Starpoints do not expire so long as the card remains active within a one-year period. Customers can redeem points for free hotel accommodation and other travel-related rewards, such as air miles. If 20,000 Starpoints are converted to miles, 5,000 bonus miles are awarded.
Further benefits include auto rental insurance, discounts on some purchases and travel accident insurance. There is a $30 annual fee, which is waived for the first year, and there is a low introductory rate for purchases and balance transfers for the first six months. There is no charge for additional cards for employees. Starpoints earned on purchases from additional cards are added to the main cardholder's account.
