The rebate amount on general purchases depends on the amount charged on the card and tops out at 1%. Purchases of gas and auto maintenance earn a higher percentage of 5%, though this can vary as well. Rewards may be redeemed as cash or as gift certificates through Discover Card partners, allowing cardholders to double the value. There is no annual fee for the card, and cardholders can take advantage of the no interest period of six months if they plan to carry a balance.
