Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card Review

The Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card issued by Citibank offers consumers with good credit rating a credit card with a flexible rewards program.
The rewards program allows customers to earn five points per dollar spent during the first 12 months on purchases at gas stations, supermarkets, and other retailers defined by the terms and conditions of the program. After 12 months, customers earn one point per dollar on these purchases. All other purchases earn one point per dollar. In addition, 6,000 bonus points are awarded after the first purchase, and these are redeemable for a $50 gift certificate. As well as redeeming points for merchandise, customers also have the unusual option to use them to reduce the APR for periods of time. A maximum of 75,000 points can be earned per year and points expire after five years.
Other benefits include auto rental insurance, discounts on auto rental, travel accident insurance, and car rental discounts. There is no annual fee, and there is a 0% introductory offer on balance transfer for 12 months with reasonable rates thereafter.
